Our bedroom is faux-finished to look like like a bridal suite
I was sitting in the backyard earlier atop the arm of this big, goofy, steel "sculpture" that Dave's dad made when he was younger (and his parents still together), gazing at the grass, and trees, and the portion of tall red fence in the very back that looks like it was taken out by a gale, when I realized, I need a new template.

This neighborhood is quiet and blowsy and treesy. We live a house away from an old, very large and sort of gothic looking, elementary school. I like it. I like this house, I like its front porch. I like feeling clean and slower thinking than I had been feeling...

Josh is taking it really well - in fact, I think he's happier than ever because he LOVES Grandmas and he's been seeing a lot of them both this past week. He has been sleeping a lot more than normal, though, and I think that is what is reflective of his deeper understanding that something big has been changing...but, it's been a fun week in other ways too - last weekend he saw both cousins (one is two and the other, um, ten months?), and ran around the backyard like a lunatic, running up and down the slope, panting wildly. Come to think of it, it's a bloody miracle we didn't both get poison ivy, as Aunt CS's lawn is lousy with it and Josh and I were both in sandals. (Last big outbreak I got was from sliding down an infested hill - that's right - on my arse. That'll teach me to drink tequila and run around in the dark in a dress...that was over seven years ago, though, and the same spot goes nuts if you even mention it)

Anyhoo.

You know what? I need to set up Josh's dresser while he's sleeping, so maybe I'll be back a bit later on...wow, thanks for hanging around.
