As you can all plainly see, my plan to lock up and rest for a few has failed. But, I went to the library yesterday and checked out books. and c.d.'s and more books. I picked Ariel Gore's The Hip Mama Survival Guide (HIPMAMA), and several other less hip books on parenting. I found two cute c.d.'s with songs for parents and kids to sing together. One is poems by well-known poets like WHitmand and Dickinson put to music. Dave looked at me like
I'd had a second break with reality when I put in these c.d.'s....and we started listening to this song where this infant has a conversation with a zucchini. this is hysterical. First Verse goes:

I think baby's teething for real now. Ack. He's been in a pissy mood all morning and I stink but I don't want to run water and wake him up. Is this what motherhood is...ya just stink, all the time? I sometimes think so...
